If you''re moving the auger more than a few feet to the next hole, shut off the engine and restart it again with the auger resting in the next pilot hole. When you''re not using the auger, just shut it off and leave it in one of the holes, or rest it on mini drill press the ground with the spark plug facing up to prevent fouling, or sideways if fuel leaks from the gas cap.for deeper holes requiring the extension rod (photos 5 and 6), dig all the holes first with the unextended auger. never start holes with the extension rod in place. it''s much harder to hoist a 4-ft. long auger filled press with earth. after the holes are dug to 36 in., attach the extension rod and dig the remaining depths all at once. at times, i''ve found it easier quill to simply dig the remaining few inches by hand rather than use the extension rod, especially if fatigue is setting in. above all, clear the hole frequently. it can be a gut-busting experience drill press to lift an auger overfilled with earth free press of the hole, or worse, quill free a stuck auger. the pumps drive poclain wheel motors, one for each wheel. the rearwheel is hand drill press and press steerable and direction control is obtained with a foot control or optional column-mounted shifter.the drive system also incorporates an electric-over-hydraulic tracloc system designed to provide superior traction control in rough conditions. quill "with the flip of a switch, the system directs a prescribed amount of oil to each wheel motor to prevent one tire from freewheeling if the unit encounters rough or slippery terrain," pohl said. "it allows the driver to keep consistent drive power to all three wheels and pull out of bad ground. ©2003 www.drill-press.net All rights reserved. |
