The mini drill press and press newest magnum light tower, the model mlt3060, has many of the same features as the existing mlt4060 tower, but in a smaller envelope. it is powered by either of two liquid-cooled engine options, a mitsubishi l3e or cat 3003, which drive a jigs 6 kw marathon generator. other engine system components include enginaire drill air cleaners, diesel radiator radiators and nelson mufflers.the mlt3060 light tower, which was just introduced in july, has a three-part mast that extends to a height of 30 ft. and rotates press 360[degrees]. the light tower incorporates a new start limit breaker (slb), which eliminates the potential of starting the engine with a load on the generator. this safety feature protects the generator and any loads connected to jigs it. the mlt3060 light tower is shipped from the factory with its lights installed and offers four individual ballast boxes and indicator lights, four individual circuit breakers, a stable four-point outrigger stance, coiled mast cord, low oil/high temperature automatic shutdown system, hourmeter, 120 v gfic and 240 twist-lock outlets, all as standard. each of magnum''s light towers also include magnum''s own control panel.

the new control system also includes an optional pattern changer valve on the 420d and 430d, allowing the operator to select different control patterns. "the feature allows the machine to be set up to match the type of control pattern with which the operator may have experience. press with this feature, the operator can get on the machine and very quickly become efficient rather than having jigs to relearn how the controls operate the machine." in the standard configuration, the 416d is powered by the naturally aspirated 4.2 l cat 3054b diesel engine rated 75 hp net at 2200 rpm. the 4.0 l turbocharged cat 3054t diesel engine rated 80 hp net at 2200 rpm is available as an option. both engines are four-cylinder direct-injection units.
